Control of glyphosate-resistant horseweed with Group 4 herbicides in soybean

چکیده

Abstract Little information is available on the relative efficacy of Group 4 herbicides for glyphosate-resistant (GR) horseweed management in soybean. Five field research experiments were conducted growers’ fields from 2020 to 2021 determine GR control with applied preplant (PP) alone and a mixture. There was minimal soybean injury (≤4%) evaluated. Dicamba, 2,4-D, or halauxifen-methyl PP controlled 92% 96%, 73% 76%, 85% 89%, respectively. The mixtures dicamba + 2,4-D provided 97% 99% horseweed, similar alone. mixture 93% 94% horseweed. Dicamba saflufenacil at 98%. alone, ester, halauxifen-methyl, ester decreased density 97%, 99%, 98%, respectively, 98% reduction saflufenacil. Other herbicide treatments had no effect density. dry biomass by 72%, 100%, 94%. Soybean yield 61% when left uncontrolled. Results show that include can be very effective managing

Glyphosate-Resistant Weed Control and Soybean Injury in Response to Different PPO-Inhibiting Herbicides

In Nebraska, 5-enolpyruvyl shikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS) as well as acetolactate synthase (ALS)-inhibitor-resistant weeds occur in many soybean fields where herbicides from these modes-of-action have been frequently used in the past. Currently, the protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO)-inhibitors are the only effective herbicides for POST control of both glyphosateand ALS-inhibitor-resistan...

Shikimate accumulates in both glyphosate-sensitive and glyphosate-resistant horseweed (Conyza canadensis L. Cronq.).

Horseweed (Conyza canadensis) is a cosmopolitan weed that commonly grows throughout North America. Horseweed that is not completely controlled by normal applications of glyphosate has been reported in western Tennessee. This research had three objectives: (1) to develop and validate an analytical procedure for the quantitative determination of shikimate, an important indicator of glyphosate act...

Glyphosate inhibits rust diseases in glyphosate-resistant wheat and soybean.

Glyphosate is a broad-spectrum herbicide used for the control of weeds in glyphosate-resistant crops. Glyphosate inhibits 5-enolpyruvyl shikimate 3-phosphate synthase, a key enzyme in the synthesis of aromatic amino acids in plants, fungi, and bacteria. Studies with glyphosate-resistant wheat have shown that glyphosate provided both preventive and curative activities against Puccinia striiformi...

Efficacy of Pre-Emergence and Post-Emergence Soybean Herbicides for Control of Glufosinate-, Glyphosate-, and Imidazolinone-Resistant Volunteer Corn

Glyphosate-resistant corn and soybean are grown in rotations in the Midwest, including Nebraska. Volunteer corn is a problematic weed in soybean fields because it causes harvest problems, reduces yield and seed quality, and potentially harbors insects, pests, and diseases. Several pre-packaged herbicides have been registered in soybean in recent years, but response of volunteer corn to these he...

Herbicide Programs for Control of Glyphosate-Resistant Volunteer Corn in Glufosinate-Resistant Soybean

Glyphosate-resistant (GR) volunteer corn is a significant problem weed in soybean grown in rotation with corn in the midwestern United States and eastern Canada. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of glufosinate applied in single or sequential applications compared with acetylcoenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase) inhibitors applied alone or tank mixed with glufosinate for contro...
